What were some of the different expectations people had in relation to Jesus during His life? What are some expectations people have of Jesus today? How can you tell which expectations are legitimate and which aren’t?
Why did Jesus cleanse the Temple? What point was He trying to make? In what ways does Jesus replace the Temple and fulfill its purpose?
The people who hailed Jesus as Messiah at the triumphal entry expected Him to reconstitute an earthly kingdom like that of King David and King Solomon. Why didn’t Jesus do this? Why did He first have to deal with people’s hearts?
